With the presidential inauguration looming, Briefly.co.za asked readers what they would do if they were sitting in the hot seat.

President Cyril Ramaphosa undoubtedly has a tough job on his hands as he looks to grow the South African economy.

As his presidential inauguration approaches, Briefly.co.za asked readers what action they would take if they were in the hot seat.

Based on the response via our Facebook post, it seems many citizens are chomping at the bit to run the country.

Many shared the sentiments that the cabinet needed an overhaul.

Margaret Stoltz said, “Start with clean, honest cabinet who are qualified to do their job.”

Maureen Mc Nabb commented, “Root out all corrupted officials. Then the rest of the duties will follow.”
Tibukele Thiza Dlamini said, “Dissolve all the oldies beyond 60yrs holding public offices expect the Doctors and Judges.”

Some of the responses took a light-hearted approach.

Mbuyiseni Dlamini suggested, “Smoke weed and chill with my people in the cabinet hence all South Africans will be encouraging to smoke their problems away too, or face jail time. Period! We tend to stress a lot. I think #Marijuana is the way yo'll!!!”

However, others expressed some insightful opinions on the matter.

Porsche Magolide Matsepane said, “Give food to the needy ones not prisoners, build more skuls than prisons,more libraries,create more jobs sell condoms not pads n make sure every skul don't lack text books.”
Andamusiq Shakes Ngwane commented, “I would re-open all the factory industrial shops that were closed down in EL and KWT and take back all those expensive cars and open new contract with toyota.. and cancel the expensev hotel contracts & and give the local B&B small busine the chance to prove themselves.”
