Woman robbed of jewellery and cash in driveway, caught on video

A daring robbery of a woman parked in a driveway was caught on video. In the footage, thugs pull up to the woman's car and grab money and jewellery before speeding away.

The video was shared on Facebook by the Special Operatives Group. In the caption, they reported that the incident occurred in Nottingham Road, Kensington.

Two of the three suspects have been apprehended. Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini told News24 that the suspects were spotted in their Polo Vivo in Louis Botha Avenue.

"A shootout ensued when police confronted them, until their vehicle hit a wall."

The suspects sustained bullet wounds and were under guard in hospital. The third suspect, however, managed to escape. The police were able to recover the stolen goods and two firearms.

Cases of armed robbery, attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of a stolen vehicle are being investigated.

None of the police officers were injured during the shootout.
