Mondli Kunene posted a tweet on social media which read:

"I am thankful for being an Educator and an Art practitioner. I chose the latter to raise awareness about social contentious issues within S.A as that is not prescribed in the curriculum, more so concerning our History as a nation, henceforth I use #MONDLIART® to narrate the untold"
