Lifestyle: Fashion designer works hard to be her "man's umbrella"

A woman has taken to social media to share a story of how she helped her husband through a difficult financial time.

Twitter user IamMary posted an emotional story about how her husband was going through financial challenges, but pride wouldn't let him admit it. He never said anything to her about it but she could pick it up.

"He tried avoiding talks that will make me ask about his business so I didn't push"

So one day she took the day off work to invite their friends over for dinner. Her husband had no idea and was surprised to find guests in the house when he came home.

"He didn't understand why his friends were all in the house. He called me aside to ask what was going on"

She said that she had hinted to the friends on why she gathered them. She requested each of them to say a prayer for her husband individually before they ate.

"I love my husband. He works so hard to make me the woman I want to be and even more. I have worked hard to not to disappoint him and he is proud of me. His investment in me hasn't been a waste and I will be his support system financially, emotionally, spiritually everyday"

She then added:

"I can be a man's umbrella"
