It’s been a fine few weeks for young striker, Zakhele Lepasa.
Lepasa became an overnight star following his last-minute winner to boost TS Galaxy to victory in the Nedbank Cup final.
The 22-year-old automatically crept into the hearts of Orlando Pirates supporters as his strike denied Kaizer Chiefs the chance of silverware.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Lepasa was eagerly waiting on the Buccaneers to make a call on his future for next season.
The Daily Sun reported that Lepasa’s parent club, Pirates, has now recalled the youngster for next season.
The striker has also received a maiden call-up for Bafana Bafana and may even feature in the Cosafa Cup, set to kick off over the weekend.
It’s been a remarkable few weeks for Lepasa as he was also named the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament.
Lepasa finished as the top-scorer for the tournament.
Lepasa said, “The past five months have been crazy, but it’s also part of a process that has brought me to this point. I have moved from Johannesburg to the Western Cape and back to Joburg chasing my football dream, and it’s in this short time that I sit here with a national call-up and a winner’s medal from the Nedbank Cup. It’s crazy!”
