Has the new Brenda Fassie been discovered via social media?

That seemed to be the case as a new video has taken social media by storm.

The footage shows a group of females singing the Brenda Fassie classic, “Too late for mamma,” but the lead singer’s voice drew all the attention.

Many tweeps agreed the singer’s voice is reminiscent to the late Brenda Fassie.

In an interesting twist, the mystery singer was deemed to be Buhle Mda, lead singer of The Soil.

Ironically, Mda is no stranger to making news headlines either.

A few years ago, the singer took a break from singing to complete sangoma initiation training.

Mda was also accused of physically abusing her ex-boyfriend.

Strangely enough, comparisons were drawn between her and Fassie a few years ago already.

Goosebumps seemed to be in high supply.

However, many were frustrated that the video wasn’t a bit longer.
