Eskom's Phakamani Hadebe has resigned as CEO of Eskom and it's apparently because of health problems. A report indicates that Hadebe collapsed on two occasions and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Eskom CEO, Phakamani Hadebe, has decided to step down from his position and this has been met with disbelief and shock.
Hadebe will end his time as CEO of the energy supplier at the end of July, according to an earlier report by Briefly.co.za.
It was believed that Hadebe decided to quit his job because of health issues, and now a report by City Press, it's much more serious than initially reported.
According to Rapport, Hadebe collapsed at work on two occasions and even had to be transported to a hospital with an ambulance.
However, Eskom did not want to confirm this claim.
Hadebe apparently also tried to quit as CEO twice before but was persuaded into staying.
His resignation comes less than a year after he's been appointed to lead Eskom.
