According to Ali Suraj, he spent the day cleaning the place because it is his final home when he leaves the world
Birthdays are very special and people around the world have different ways of marking such special days.
For one businessman, though, he decided to celebrate his latest birthday by cleaning a cemetery.
Ali Suraj turned 40 on Sunday, May 26 but rather than organise a party, he took to the Tafo cemetery in the Old Tafo Municipality to clean the place.
According to a report by Accra-based Class FM, he spent the day together with his friends clearing weeds and rubbish at the cemetery.
Mr. Suraj explained that the cemetery will be his final home one day when he leaves the world and, therefore, found it appropriate to use the day to clean the place
He added that it is good to keep the cemetery clean so that all the ancestors buried over there can peacefully rest.
"I decided purposely to come here [Tafo cemetery] to mark my 40th birthday,” the businessman is quoted as saying.
“The reason behind it is to clean the environment because our fathers and our mothers are here, and the place is dirty, that's why I decided to use my birthday to clean the environment.”
