South Africans were left speechless by a man who claimed he was selling Sassa cards that pay out a certain amount each month.
On Sunday, Tumi Sole shared a screenshot of a message sent by 'Tebogo Mhlongo', who allegedly sells Sassa cards.
"#CountryDuty Some people have no shame!" he captioned the post.
'Mhlongo' advertised his services, which consist of selling several Sassa cards, prices ranging from R600 to R1 200.
South Africans could not believe that someone was trying to sell Sassa cards. Briefly.co.za gathered several social media users pointed out Mhlongo's business plan did not make any sense.
They pointed out if he had cards that pay out a certain amount each month, why did he not just use them to withdraw money himself.
Sassa has also taken to social media to alert people of the so-called Tebogo Mhlongo's scam.
"SASSA CARDS ARE NOT FOR SALE- SASSA is aware of a scam message doing the rounds on social media & warns beneficiaries not to buy SASSA cards from anyone. The agency is working with law enforcement agencies to catch such fraudsters," the message read.
