The Democratic Alliance's Solly Msimanga doesn't approve of Gauteng Premier David Makhura's new Cabinet. He feels that the appointment of Faith Mazibuko as MEC for Community Safety is a disaster.
IOL News reports that Solly Msimanga found Gauteng Premier, David Makhura's new C,abinet concerning since there are members who have, according to him, dismal track-records.
Msimanga was particularly upset by the appointment of Faith Mazibuko - she was chosen as MEC for Community Safety.
This comes after Mazibuko got into hot water over the way she spoke to white and Indian employees.
Msimanga feels that Mazibuko's appointment is a disaster.
"The appointment of Faith Mazibuko as MEC for Community Safety is an absolute disaster. How can she uphold law and order after her racist rants against staff members over Combi Courts just before the election?
"This was an abuse of state resources for electioneering purposes if ever there was."
Briefly.co.za gathered that Msimanga also slammed the appointments of Lebogang Maile and Jacob Mamabolo.
He added that the DA is going to ensure that South Africa's new administration improves the lives of the people of Gauteng.
"During this sixth administration, the DA will work cordially with the new executive to ensure that the people of Gauteng are placed first.
"However, we will also not shy away from confronting them when they fail to uphold their constitutional mandates and are dismissive of the plight of the people of Gauteng."
On a positive note, half of President Ramaphosa's new Cabinet is female - that's definitely a step in the right direction.
