A video has being doing the rounds on social media purporting to show the death of Free State student, Naledi Arcelia Lethoba.

However, it is in fact an old video of an incident that took place in Brazil.

The clip shows two women stabbing another woman, but the person in the video is not Naledi.

Naledi's death shocked South Africa this week. The 21-year-old's body was discovered in Dagbreek, Welkom and had been mutilated, according to IOL.

Her body had been burnt and there was a knife in her back.

Since then, a Welkom man has been arrested for Naledi's murder. He is a 19-year-old student at Goldfields TVET College, where Naledi also studied. He appeared in court briefly on Thursday, eNCA has reported.

Police said they did not yet have a motive for the crime, but said that the accused would appear in court again later in June for a formal bail application.

Additionally, the police thanked Naledi's family, who helped identify the body, as well the investigators who tracked down the suspect.
