The Jacob Zuma Foundation is planning to write a book about how Zuma has positively affected the lives of ordinary South Africans during his political career.
He took to social media to call on South Africans to submit their stories. His post was met with mixed reactions.
Twitter user Rinmor said:
"Your impact on South African citizens (except for your inner circle) has been one of destruction of lives and hope ... you have been an evil scourge on this land. May you rot in a prison cell."
"I'm not entirely sure Mr Zuma is prepared for this... Did he really think this through?"
Other responses were a lot more positive, with Twitter user Velingobese_ZA sharing a story of meeting Zuma:
"I remember seeing you visiting my late uncle Vusi Nkabinde (Joseph Shuma an MK commissar who was based in Tanzania) from KwaMashu later moved to Newlands East then Mt Moria in a house provided for by yourself when you started MKMVA dept. Nxamalala!"
"Nxamalala!!!!! Hearing from you and reading your tweet in your voice has just lifted my spirit. It's been a depressing week, what with events that have been happening in uMzansi from Sat. Will heed your call Baba and can't wait for the book. You're the best Msholozi."
