Finance Minister Tito Mboweni shared with his fans on social media that he drove for hours to have a traditional lunch with SAMA winner, Sho Madjozi, at her home in Limpopo.
Social media was abuzz earlier today with news that Mzansi's Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni, drove hours to meet double SAMA winner, Sho Madjozi, for lunch at her home in Limpopo. The meeting was to honour the singer on her achievement at the awards ceremony last weekend.
Mboweni took to Twitter to share a snap of him with Sho and said he was off to enjoy a traditional lunch. Although followers were really excited for the singer, they were more concerned about the minister's culinary skills.
Tito tweeted a snap him with Sho Madjozi and wrote: "I drove for two hours to have a traditional lunch at her home at Shirley Village. Elim area. Limpopo. Last weekend, she won SAMA Awards. Great young musician! MuChangana musician! Swa mani leswi? Swa yena!!"
According to ZAlebs, Mboweni is a fan of the foodie hashtag and has been spotted many times, sharpening his culinary skills in the kitchen and sharing dishes he’s cooked via his social media platforms.
He shared snaps of the food cooking on the stove, along with a few hints on how the lunch date was going.
In his first snap of the beef stew, Mboweni said: "Seems to be ok. Doubtful though. A lot of effort hey. Carrots are good."
Mboweni then posted another snap, saying the beef stew was done and they were ready to dig in.
Presentation is always important. Mboweni said Madjozi had aced that section.
His final summary was most welcomed. "Home cooked food is the good! Done. Simple, basic, nutritious, cost-effective and healthy."
Here are some of the responses from Mboweni's tweet:
Twitter folk can be really nasty sometimes. Some even mentioned that Mboweni is known as the Rasta of cooking. Eish, that's a low blow.
