Shortly after the SAMA, rumours started spreading the Mlindo The Vocalist got violent with his girlfriend in Sun City's parking lot. However, the musician has slammed the rumours as lies.
Mlindo The Vocalist was forced to address rumours that he beat up his bae after he lost out on the Newcomer of the Year Award at the South African Music Awards.
It started with a Twitter user claiming he had seen Mlindo beat up his girlfriend in Sun City's parking lot.
"Oh...trash Mlindo The Vocalist beat up his gf at the parking lot in Sun City after the awards."
Mlindo made a video that he shared on social media that addresses the claims against him, as reported on as well by TimesLIVE.
"So from the Samas, there's rumours doing the rounds alleging that I apparently beat up a woman because I was upset by the fact that I didn't win a Sama. Guys, it's not true! There is no one that I beat up."
"I didn't even go with my girlfriend to the Samas, so I don't know where all this is coming from. I didn't beat up anyone."
Briefly.co.za gathered that Mlindo said he forgives the person who started the nasty rumour.
He also said he's not jealous of Sho Madjozi, the winner of the Newcomer of the Year Award.
"My sister, Sho Madjozi, you know I got mad love for you ... congratulations are in order. Don't let anyone take this away from you! You’ve had an amazing year and opened doors for women and the XiTsonga culture. Mintirho ya Vulavula - I hope that’s correct."
