Dineo Ranaka has fought back against the DJ backlash she has faced over social media. The DJ plans to stand her ground and not be swayed by anyone or anything.
Radio personality turned DJ, Dineo Ranaka has hit back at people who have criticised her decision to become a club DJ. She made it clear that she is not going to compromise herself to suit others just to make them happy.
Dineo’s skills as a DJ has been debatable ever since a video of her behind the decks went viral earlier this year. She was mocked by social media users who suggested that she should stick to radio presenting after she failed to impress a crowd.
According to TshisaLive, Dineo opened up in an interview with True Love magazine that she went from learning how to DJ to getting gigs in a matter of weeks, which she believes might have annoyed some people.

She explained why she believed she was under attack from the public.
“I understand why I came under attack, because some people have been doing this for a long time but lack of platforms to sell themselves. Yet, I’m out here telling people that I learnt how to DJ in two weeks. I’m not going to reduce myself just to make other people feel comfortable.”
Dineo said that she was committed to her new acquired skill and passion and hopefully monetise on it.
“If I see an opportunity to make money out of something, trust me, I will do so because I’m not raising my children for free. I cannot deposit my love for them at the bank, with the hope that it’ll pay their school fees and my bond,” added Dineo.
Dineo became the talk of social media April after a Twitter user accused her of using a mixtape during her DJ set.
Although Dineo remained mum on the accusations initially, she cleared the air during an interview on Metro FM, saying she was flattered that people had assumed she used a mix tape.
“In my heart of hearts, I saw that tweet as a compliment. I was beating myself up over this set thinking that I messed up,” said Dineo.
Two weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Dineo Ranaka was the latest Mzansi celebrity to grace the cover of True Love magazine and couldn’t help but thank the publication for the opportunity, which is did on Instagram.
The media personality and DJ was overwhelmed with excitement and grateful to the magazine for the opportunity.
Dineo hasn’t had the best start of to the year, with accusations from people saying she really isn’t a good DJ at all. So in her thank you note to True Love magazine, she expressed her gratitude and appreciation.
