South Africans react to man selling 2nd hand coffin for R12 000

South Africans were left both amused and stunned by a social media users who advertised a used coffin on Twitter.

On Tuesday, a man, who has been identified by his Twitter handle @msanele112, took to the social media platform to advertise a second hand coffin.

"I’m selling a secondhand coffin for R12,000.00 the price is slightly negotiable. Serious buyers only," the post read.

Now, @msanele112 did not give any details to what happened to the previous owner or if he was even being serious but the reactions had us in stitches.

So, Briefly.co.za decided to take a look at some of the best comments on @msanele112's post.

"Where’s the original user?" Bamuza Sono asked, adding the person might be resurrected and come looking for the coffin.

Social media user @melodysbk said she too wondered what happened to the previous tenant.

"Was wondering the the same. Then thought maybe it's that guy who was raised from the dead...by that other pastor," she wrote.
Twitter user @MsMphoNare commented: "Secondhand coffin?? Did the previous corpse not like it or did they move?"

Twitter user @noku_non felt the need to explain why the coffin might be second hand and her explanation made sense - well, kind of.

"Some communities don't bury they cremate so the coffin is only used to carry the body to the hall for the service. Most families rent coffins," she wrote.
