China has given President Cyril Ramaphosa a beaming endorsement, saying that the leader has the potential to turn South Africa around.
Ambassador Lin Songtian, Beijing's top envoy in SA, sang his praises, dubbing him the right man for the job:
“I believe President Ramaphosa is the right president at the right time. He is the best choice for the people at this moment to lead this country to the right direction. We are very confident of that. We are ready to work together with this country, your country, and your people."
Songtian says that Mzansi is not a poor country, with an abundance of resources that the president needs to harness in order to revive the economy:
“The number one challenge for President Ramaphosa is poverty, but the main mission for him is development for common prosperity. The first strength of South Africa is the resources… the mineral resources, agricultural resources, ocean resources and more importantly the human resources."
The ambassador claimed that SA's human resources will be a key ingredient for allowing the nation to prosper, with location adding to the strength of the country, reports The South African.
According to Songtian, South Africa could well become a production base for the continent, and even the world.
