Karima Brown has labelled her victory against the Economic Freedom Fighters and its leader, Julius Malema, as a victory for female journalists.
Veteran journalist Karima Brown has dubbed her court victory against the EFF as a victory for women in her trade.
Briefly.co.za reported yesterday that the Gauteng High Court found that the Red Berets had violated the Electoral Code before the elections.
Julius Malema had posted a tweet including Brown's phone number, resulting in harassment, including rape and even death threats levied against the journalist, reports eNCA.
Judge Fiona Dippenaar had warned both the party and its leader, hoping her judgement would help serve as a deterrent to others from following suit.
While she levied severe criticism at Malema and his party's conduct, Dippenaar found Brown's behaviour had added fuel to the fire.
The EFF had responded to the ruling with an unusually brief statement, saying that it would be complying with the court order.
