Although not as celebrated as men's football when it comes to numbers, women are curving out their name in football's history books as they keep rising to higher levels of popularity.

According to BBC, new world records for club attendances in women's football were set across three top European leagues in the 2018/19 season.

In Spain, Atletico Madrid's match against Barcelona attracted 60,739 fans, while Juventus versus Fiorentina broke the Italian record with 39,000 fans present.

Meanwhile France also broke its domestic record in women's football, after 25,907 fans witnessed Lyon's defeat Paris Saint Germain to win the Division 1 Feminine title.
