The Portugal team was in transit from training ahead of the UEFA Nation's League final against the Netherlands.
Moreira, who seemed well aware of the route the team would take, strategically placed himself where he would be spotted.
To get enough traction, the youngster - who is battling leukaemia - held up a sign asking for a hug from Ronaldo.
The team bus was then stopped as the former Real Madrid talisman took the excited boy on board, where the two posed for a photo.
