- The Gupta family is set to throw two lavish weddings this month
- The events will take place at an Indian ski resort
- The family has booked out almost the entire resort for the function
The Gupta family is reportedly planning two opulent weddings which will reportedly cost around R43 million.
The weddings are set to take place at a ski resort in the Garhwal Himalayas in India.
The weddings are for Ajay Gupta's son Suryakant and Atul Gupta's son Shashank.
According to News24, the functions are set to take place from 18 June to 22 June. Almost all of the hotel rooms at the resort will be reserved for the event, and helicopters will reportedly airlift the guests to the venue.
The guest list will feature Bollywood stories, business moguls and politicians, The Economic Times has reported.
This will be in the latest in a string of high budget, luxury weddings for the Gupta family. The most infamous of these is arguably the 2013 wedding of the Gupta brothers' niece in Sun City.
The event costs millions of rands and the Gupta sparked outrage when they landed for the function at Waterkloof Airforce Base - allegedly with the permission of former president Jacob Zuma.
As a result of their close (and allegedly corrupt) relationship with Zuma, the Guptas are subject of a state capture inquiry.
For example, the Guptas use their close contacts in the South African government to loot money from the Estina dairy farm project, among other dubious ventures.
