Business news: Pick n Pay CEO gets a whopping R32 million payday

Pick n Pay has released its annual financial statements for the last financial year, revealing exactly how much its CEO and other high-ranking employees got paid.

Despite a challenging economic environment, Pick n Pay has managed to enjoy a successful financial year.

CEO Richard Brasher took home a cool R32 million for the year, earning himself a R20.6 million bonus for his efforts.

Chief Financial Officer, Bakar Jakoet, earned R20.5 million up from R5.4 million for the 2018 financial year.

In total, executive directors altogether earned R69.12 million for the year with an average of R13.82 million paid per executive. This saw an overall increase from the previous financial period, which saw the average sitting at just under R6 million per executive.

Stats SA's latest survey showed that the average South African employee earns around R20 190 a month, averaging at R650 a day, reports Business Tech.
