Mzansi celebs are not above the law and certainly not above getting into trouble over taxes.
Idols SA presenter, Unathi, apparently found herself in trouble after allowing herself to get behind on income taxes.
Sunday World reports that a court judgement has been obtained to attach her multi-million-Rand house in Randburg because of tax matters.
According to the report, Unathi owes SARS more than R120 000 in income tax. However, after SARS imposed a whopping R94 000 in administrative penalties, the musician now owes more than R214 000.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Unathi's accountant, Byron Ahmed of BAHMEDA, has made an agreement with the tax service to settle her bill for her.
"She entered into an agreement to pay the bill on monthly basis and she is adherent to that agreement."
When asked to comment on the matter, Unathi said: "My accountant entered into an agreement with them, so please speak to him and he will refer you to my account executive at SARS who is handling this account."
