AFCON team made up of popular politicians has Mzansi in stitches

- A hilarious social media post depicted some of Mzansi’s favourite politicians wearing the green and gold of Bafana Bafana

- The post asked readers if the politically-inclined team could win the Afcon

- Social media users sent some extremely funny responses and it soon went viral

It was a case of double jeopardy on social media recently as a comical Bafana Bafana photo went viral on both Facebook and Twitter.

Twitter user, Man’s Not Barry Roux (@AdvBarryRoux), shared a photo depicting the faces of popular politicians wearing the green and gold of Bafana Bafana.

He posed the question to Mzansi: “Can we win AFCON with this team?”

Briefly.co.za then followed this up and shared the popular post with all of our followers on Facebook.

Both posts attracted some comical reactions, which we’ve decided to share here.

The defence could be marshalled by Bheki Cele and President Cyril Ramaphosa, along with Jacob Zuma in goal.

An attack boasting the firepower of Julius Malema and Pravin Gordhan could be an exciting one.

Shadrack Mabaso said, “The goalkeeper will sell us no no, if they pay him he will just dive.”
Samy Bala said, “They will score sooo many own goals. That’s the only record they will break.”
Robbhie Da'ear added, “They’ll buy the Afcon cup and come home with it.”
Theunis Pretorius said, “If it is a corruption game. No one will ever beat this team.”
