As part of celebrating their special day, it has emerged Mesut Ozil and his wife, Amine Gulse, fed over 16,000 people on their wedding day.
Ozil exchanged vows with his fiancee in a lavish wedding ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey, on Friday, June 7.
The wedding was graced by Turkey president Recep Erdogan who also doubled as the Arsenal star's best man.
And in an amazing gesture to mark the distinctive day, the couple, through the Turkish Red Crescent charity donated their wedding food to the homeless who included Syrian refugees.
The initiative's head, Kerem Kinik, has since delivered a message of gratitude to the couple on behalf of the beneficiaries.
"Dear Mesut Ozil, I wish you and Amine happiness in 2worlds. Thanks for your donation to @Kizilay, we delivered your Wedding Dinner to 16, 000 people from our soup kitchens," he said in a tweet.
"They thanked you and wished you a lifelong happiness. I wish these beauties to be an example for everyone," he submitted.
The lovebirds' kind act came just days after they pledged to pay for surgeries of 1000 children in need through their charity organisation, BigShoe.
"Many fans have asked me, my close relatives and friends about our wishes for tomorrow's wedding. As a professional footballer I am in a fortunate and privileged position," Ozil wrote.
"However, I invite everyone who is willing and able to help to support a very special project close to both of our hearts that we will undertake with BigShoe," he announced.
Ozil and Amine went public about their relationship in 2017 before their engagement in June 2018.
