In the emotional video, Pieterse said he was grateful to be alive.

"I am grateful that I'm alive, because there are a lot of people who don't have the opportunity to be able to live," he said.

Pieterse said he can't remember what happened but he was told some guy drove into him. The accident left him with bruises on his hands and face. He also had to get stitches on his ear.

Pieterse regained consciousness on Wednesday and he said he felt okay despite a sore jaw.
