- Orlando Pirates could be in the midst of a mass exodus as a number of players are set to leave the Soweto giants
- Defender Thabo Matlaba will be leading the list of names heading for the exit door
- Striker Thamsanqa Gabuza will reportedly be staying at the Buccaneers
If reports are to be believed, Orlando Pirates could be bracing themselves for a player exodus during this transfer window.
However, it seems to be self-inflicted as the club seeks to offload a number of fringe players.
Leading the list of players headed for departure will be defender, Thabo Matlaba.
KickOFF.com reported that the players placed on the exit list include Diamond Thobola, Meshack Maphangule, Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Phetso Maphanga, Justice Chabalala, Ayanda Nkosi and Gladwin Shitolo.
Not everyone will be sold as the Buccaneers look to negotiate loan deals for Chabalala and Maphangula.
Briefly.co.za understands that striker, Thamsanqa Gabuza, will stay put.
TS Galaxy’s Nedbank cup hero, Zakhele Lepasa, is being recalled to Pirates, but may be loaned out to a PSL club to gain experience in the top flight.
The Buccaneers narrowly missed out on claiming the Absa Premiership title, but will be hoping that new acquisitions, Fortune Makaringe and Siphesihle Ndlovu, will give them the required boost for next season.
