The South African Rugby Legends Association (SARLA) have identified a potential future South African rugby star and are committed to securing support for his future. The young boy has received R100 000 from an auction to help make his dream come true.
Talented young Nande Maduna was spotted in 2016 while a student at Reiger Park, a school which participates in the VUKA Rugby Development Programme in the Valke region.
The 16-year-old's talent was spotted by SARLA during his participation in various high-profile, talent identification rugby activities. He was selected in both 2016 and 2017 to play in Iqhawe week and in 2018, he was chosen for the A-Team for Grant Khomo week. He also participated in the team representing South Africa at the Tricolore Games in Italy.
There is a need to raise funds to support both Nande’s education and sporting requirements to ensure the development of his talent as a future South African rugby player. He is currently in Grade 11 and supported by Kempton Park High School.
Local TAG Heuer agency, Picot & Moss, donated one watch to SARLA, who auctioned it on Jacaranda FM on Wednesday to raise funds for Nande.
The atmosphere was full of emotion as the timepiece was auctioned for the incredible amount of R100 000, which will contribute greatly to supporting the future education and training needs of Nande Maduna.
