Love has once again proven that it knows no bound and can live forever. An American Army veteran has reunited with the love of his life after they were separated for 74 years and he couldn't wait to proclaim his feelings again.
An Army veteran (98) was reunited with his French lover after they have been separated for 75 years and has proven that love conquers all - even time.
When Kara Troy Robbins - nickname KT - saw the woman who held his heart for all those many years, Jeanine Pierson, he couldn't help but tell her that his love for her has never died.
“I always loved you. You never got out of my heart.”
W24 reported that the reunited couple met up on the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landing.
KT showed Jeanine the photo of her that he had kept all the time. Despite the distance between them, their love remained strong and unwavering.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the two fell in love when KT was stationed in Briey, France, at 24. Jeanine was 18 at the time.
Sadly, after 2 months they lovers were separated when he had to leave the eastern front.
Jeanine says she was very sad when KT left and wished he didn't return to the US.
Both of them eventually got married but never forgot each other. KT asked French journalists to help him find the woman who had been in his heart for decades.
The journalists found her and arranged a reunion, according to The Mirror.
It was an emotional time. Check out this video of the couple whose love stood the test of time:
