South Africa's ambassador to Denmark, Zindzi Mandela, has been the talk of the town since her comments on social media.

Zindzi expressed her view on white South Africans. She shared a series of tweets with the hashtag #OurLand. She started off with telling 'apartheid apologists' that their time is over.

IOL News reports that the hashtag #ZindziMandela was soon trending and more than 13 000 tweets responded to what she said.

Now, AfriForum is calling for Zindzi's removal from her post.

According to the activist group, Zindzi's tweets were 'racist and divisive' and has asked the Minister of International Relations and Co-operation, Naledi Pandor, to fire her.

AfriForum accused Zindzi of 'contributing to a dangerous discourse of scapegoating' in a public arena.

Alana Bailey, the deputy chief executive of AfriForum, said:

"With false allegations and demeaning terms such as ‘cowards’ and ‘land thieves’, she is contributing to a dangerous discourse of scapegoating. Her defence that she is entitled to a personal opinion, shows a complete lack of insight into her responsibility in her position as ambassador."

On the other hand, gathered that Andile Mngxitama, the president of the Black First Land First party, backed Zindzi's statements.

"She is absolutely correct in characterising white people as land thieves and also as cowards who hide behind stolen identities on social media. White people have made black South Africans... terrified to tell the truth and so when you speak the truth you are delegitimised, considered a racist and also thrown out of the protection of the law."
