Gorgeous rapper and songwriter, Nadia Nakai, is super excited about dropping her debut album later in June. She's ready for tongues to wag over her experimental work and the pan-African elements she added.
Nadia Nakai is almost ready to drop her debut album and she's very excited about it.
The rapper is also prepared for any critique she may get for her experimental sound, according to TimesLIVE.
Nadia can't wait to have fans hear her music and she thinks the experimental and pan-African elements are going to have people talking.
The rapper said she embraced her African roots.
"I think that my sound has matured in the sense that I am embracing my African roots. This album will touch on my Zimbabwean heritage.
"Although I don't speak Shona very well, I sing in Shona on one of the choruses. I want to show that side of me, but I also know that people may think they are experts and say things about it."
Nadia doesn't really care if there will be people who are negative about her album - she's doing what she loves and making the kind of music she wants to.
"I just want to be as authentic as possible and show people exactly who I am. I have become more confident in what I like, and not what people think will work for the market. I feel like I have grown with my fans and what I enjoy, they will enjoy."
