Every week, since her show began, Pearl Thusi has been commended by fans for her interviewing skills on Behind The Story. However, after her interview with AKA, Pearl was heavily-criticised by veteran broadcaster, Redi Tlhabi, for the way she handled certain parts of the interview.
Redi Tlhabi criticised Pearl for failing to ask “tough questions” when AKA was talking about cheating on his baby momma, DJ Zinhle, with Bonang Matheba and also breaking up with Bonang and reconciling with Zinhle.
But the part that affected Redi the most was when Pearl asked AKA about the “rocks” he tweeted about after his break-up with Bonang. Redi felt that Pearl could have handled it better instead of “giggling” her way through the interview.
Redi took to Twitter and wrote: “You can, in an interview, interrupt and ask tough questions like: ‘Wait, are you really going to perpetuate harmful stereotypes and should you not take responsibility for the choices you made?’ No need to giggle your way around harmful answers.”
Below is the video snippet thatRedi was referring to.

Redi explained that the way that Pearl handled that particular part of the interview was harmful and the conversation demonstrated “microaggressions and gender stereotypes”.
“Do ‘they’ understand the microaggressions and gender stereotypes demonstrated in that convo? A bit like The Mad Woman in the Attic. Except this is real life,” Redi added.
This is how the thread went down:
However, Pearl Thusi did not respond to Redi’s tweets, despite many thinking that she would. Pearl only retweeted comments from her viewers who praised her interviewing skills.
A few days ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Pearl Thusi showed her goofy side once again, this time by quoting the cute words of her bestie's daughter. Pearl took to social media to share the wisdom that Kairo Forbes had to say about squeezing.
Pearl Thusi is often sharing silly videos and cute moments on social media, and she's clearly a woman who likes to keep things light.
She recently shared the 'wise words' uttered by the adorable daughter of her best friend, DJ Zinhle. Kairo had something to say about being squeezed, and Pearl liked it so much she had to quote it on social media.
