For years, Hillary Kiprotich who identified himself as Shieys Chepkosgei, has been comfortably living as a woman until June 14, 2019 when nurses at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) busted him.
The man, prior to his arrest by the investigative team, had been working at the hospital's Emergency Service as a nurse identified as Pamela Mulupi but medics became suspicious after the name missed on the interns register.
Kiprotich who easily passed as a female with only a slightly dolled up face and more often braided hair, was then arrested and taken to Eldoret GK Women Prison.
It was at the correctional facility that police officers discovered during a routine check that the suspect was actually not just impersonating a nurse but was also a man.
A quick flip through his Facebook account revealed mind boggling photos of the man who prefers to be identified as a woman.
Naive, beautiful, shy and photogenic are the words that can be used to describe an athletic 'Chepkosgei' as 'she' appears in the photos.
The photos also show a committed athlete on the tracks training and proudly displaying several awards he had won from various marathons.
According to investigating officers, Kiprotich managed to participate in a number of international marathons under the guise of Chepkosgei.
Here are more photos of Kiprotich alias Chepkosgei that will leave you wondering just how he managed to keep such a secret.
Kiprotich not only easily mingles with unsuspecting residents, but he can also do basic make up by himself.
The 29-year-old has participated in marathons in Malaysia, Morocco, Tanzania and Zambia as a female athlete and he has won three medals so far.
Kiprotich will be remanded for 10 days pending investigations over his birth certificate, identification card and passport.
Earlier, Briefly had reported that a suspect presented at an Eldoret court on Tuesday, June 18, claiming to be a female nurse at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) left the court stunned after he turned out to be a man.
The man, Hillary Kiprotich who identified himself as Shieys Chepkosgei, is said to have impersonated a nurse at the hospital identified as Pamela Mulupi on June 14, 2019.
