Former president Jacob Zuma has lost his bid to appeal the High Court ruling ordering him to repay millions in legal fees. Mzansi isn't mad about it, taking to social media to voice their opinions on the matter.
Jacob Zuma has missed his chance to appeal the High Court ruling making him personally responsible for repaying his legal bills.
Briefly.co.za reported earlier today that the former president will now need to pay back an estimated R16 million, illegally spent by the State on his legal costs over more than a decade.
Mzansi seems to side with the court in this matter, with numerous citizens taking to social media to insist the politician pay back the money.
Michael van Zyl is doubtful Zuma will stick around for much longer, commenting that before the year ends, Zuma will be in a foreign country, 'enjoying his riches'.
Khethelo Khetho says that the ex-president has a good support system of people and they would come to his aid and help him pay.
Shirley Khotle urged people not to get too excited, pointing out that the wealthy politician wouldn't flinch at the steep amount.
His advocate might disagree with Shirley though, recently telling the court that Zuma will not be able to fund his looming corruption trial.
