Gwede Mantashe appears to have upped his fashion game and he wore a fitted suit to the SONA on Thursday. Social media users were quick to point out the minister's suit fit him way better than the infamous oversized one he tried to pull off earlier in the year.
Briefly.co.za previously reported Twitter poked fun at Gwede Mantashe earlier this year after a photo resurfaced online which showed him wearing an oversized suit.
At the time, Mantashe joked that if people keep sharing an infamous photo of him dressed in an oversized suit, the ANC would lose the 2019 elections.
However, it appeared Mantashe heard Mzansi's plea and he upped his fashion game for the State on the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday.
The Mineral Mesources minister showed up to the SONA wearing a tailored suit and Mzansi noticed.
Taking to social media, tweeps shared photos of Mantashe in a suit that's not two sizes too big.
Twitter user @AngikhoRight shared another photo of Mantashe, captioning it:
"#SONA19 MR Gwede Mantashe, his suit is a good fit. Uzamile shwem."
Another tweep, @abuti_rati, commented: "He tried shame."
Phuti Matlala, who goes by the Twitter handle @PMokone, wrote: "This is a better suit, uncle @GwedeMantashe1.
