It’s a sad reality that many South Africans find themselves in – no roof over their head or food to eat.

Unfortunately, the homeless are often shunned by the general public, but one man is striving to make a difference.

Bi Phakathi is known for his philanthropy and often shares his deeds of goodwill via Facebook.

On Tuesday, Phakathi shared a touching interaction between himself and a madala living high up a hill.

Video footage reveals how Phakathi meets the man at his spot on the hill and offers to buy him food and clothing.

A sign of how paranoid South Africans have become due to crime is evident as the madala refuses to go off with Phakathi to buy the items.

Eventually, Phakathi goes and purchases the grocery items on his own and returns to the hill as he donates it to the elderly man.

The madala is clearly stunned by the display of generosity and somewhat reluctantly accepts the assistance.

Phakathi continuously probes the madala on whether he requires extra blankets and clothing.

Not wanting to abuse the offer, the madala eventually only states that he requires shoes.

To cap it off, Phakathi hands a few hundred rand to the man as well.

The video made a massive impact on social media as it’s been viewed over 48 000 times. surveyed some of the positive reactions and many lauded the Good Samaritan.
