A member of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department has gone above and beyond her call of duty when she helped a mother give birth in the street after a call about a collapsed woman.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department received a call about a woman who had collapsed in Eloff Street.
An officer was sent to the scene and went on to go beyond what is normally expected.
Officer Lebogang Mngomezulu found a 28-year-old woman who was actually in labour. She didn't hesitate and proceeded to assist the mother in bringing her child into the world safely.
Because there wasn't really time to wait for help, the woman had to give birth on the pavement, but she was in good hands with officer Mngomezulu.
Briefly.co.za gathered that a healthy baby girl was born thanks to the help of the brave officer.
Goodthingsguy reports that the baby and mother were taken to Hillbrow Clinic and is doing well.
