The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is in full swing and Bafana Bafana is gearing up for their first match on Monday.
The South African side will face off against the Ivory Coast at 4:30pm in their first match in the 32nd edition of AFCON.
Bafana Bafana trended on social media on Monday as Mzansi anxiously awaited their first match to kick off. However, Briefly.co.za gathered by looking at the social media posts that South Africans have little faith in the national team.
We took a look at some of the social media posts about the expectations Mzansi has, not only for today's match but for the tournament.
Twitter user @ThisIsColbert commented: "The match is at 16:30 and I'm already disappointed. Why is Bafana Bafana still insisting on playing football? I mean it's not their thing. "
Mninawa Ntloko, @ntlokom, added: "No pressure Bafana Bafana but we are desperate now. No country deserves to witness so many defeats, in different sporting codes, and all in the same bloody month!! Come on boys, do the things in Egypt. Otherwise there won't be enough space on that shrink's couch."
