Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is rooting for Algeria to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations title in Egypt who are making their 18th appearance in the competition.
Algeria have been drawn in Group C that also includes Kenya, Tanzania and Senegal's Lions of Teranga.
They are current joint-group leaders with three points, on level with Senegal after the two teams winning their group openers on Sunday, June 23.
The Desert Foxes are yet to test continental glory for close to 30 years now, with their only triumph happening in 1990 when they saw off Nigeria in the final on home soil.
In Egypt, the side is bound to come against other tournament favourites including group opponents, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and cup-holders, Cameroon.
Algeria's head coach Djamel Belmadi is also grappling with a relatively inexperienced squad compared to previous editions, with Man City's Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani among the team’s most notable names.
Be that as it may, Zidane, who is of Algerian Kabyle descent believes the north African nation should do everything withing their reach to win the 32nd edition of the competition.
“We want to see the Algerian team playing well for the Algerian people," he said on beIN Sports TV.
"I want them to win the title so as to see Algerians celebrating their victory in the streets," he added.
