Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder James Agyekum Kotei.
The holding midfielder previously played his football for Simba Sport Club in the Tanzanian Premier League.
Amakhosi has signed the 25-year-old on a three-year deal and shared the news via social media.
Briefly.co.za noted that the tweet went viral and attracted more than 500 comments since being shared today.
However, it seems the signing was met with a great deal of disappointment and some supporters were hoping for a marquee signing.
Mawara wara (@sivokovoko) said, “Hehehe the breaking news that all Chiefs supporters were waiting for is finally here...this must be a happy moment for Chiefs family.”
Nhlakanipho Mhlongo (@bhebhe_nhlaka) added: “Mcim. He will be released before Christmas.”
