Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza has warned the supporter's not to expect success after the Bucs announced the signing of several new players this week.
The side has had a busy transfer window and have so far unveiled Tshegofatso Mabasa‚ Kabelo Dlamini‚ Bongani Sam (all from Celtic)‚ Fortune Makaringe and Siphesihle Ndlovu (Maritzburg), Tebogo Tlolane (Chippa) and Gabadinho Mhango (Wits).
But Khoza has warned that the new arrivals would not guarantee immediate success.
Speaking to SowetanLive, Khoza said:
“In football you can’t expect anything”
He said he is making these comments to protect himself from a heart attack, if things don't go as planned. He added that they, as club owners, could not predict the future
"I want to live a bit longer because football‚ as the Baroka coach (Kgoloko Thobejane) said‚ it’s a dangerous game‚ it can kill you."
Pirates will open their Premiership season with a home clash against Bloemfontein Celtic in August at Orlando Stadium.
