'Scandal' actor, Brighton Ngoma, opens up about living with vitiligo

Brighton Ngoma, best known for his role as Quinton Nyathi in Scandal!, suffers from vitiligo and is very open about the skin condition. He shared with his fans that it's not contagious or painful.

Brighton Ngoma, the popular actor who plays Quinton Nyathi in the soapie Scandal!, is considered one of the most handsome men on the show.

The fact that he has vitiligo - a skin condition that causes the loss of skin colour in blotches - doesn't affect his brilliant acting or good looks at all.

Brighton is one of Mzansi's celebs who is very open about living with vitiligo, and he often jokes about it as well.

25 June was World Vitiligo Day, and Brighton took the opportunity to tell his fans that the skin condition is not contagious or painful.

"In case you're wondering, my skin condition is known as vitiligo. It's not contagious, it's not painful - it just means I might get the land back quicker ... kidding!"

Brighton's fans soon commented that they still find him attractive and that he's a great actor.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Leleti Khumalo, the award-winning actress, also has vitiligo.

TimesLIVE reported Leleti admits that the industry doesn't really accommodate people with vitiligo.

"Our industry doesn't accommodate things like this and people do not understand because they don't know me like this. It is a matter of understanding and working with it. It used to affect me a lot. This industry is about looks. But now I have accepted it."

Talent doesn't lie in skin, and these brilliant actors are proof of it.
