A woman has shared that her boyfriend made her pay rent for four years only to find out that he actually owned the property. Mzansi social media users had a field day unpacking the bizarre story.

Twitter user Nolusindiso Mkungeka probably didn't expect her short tweet to trend as much as it did. But as soon as it caught the attention of Mzansi, no one could stop talking about it.

The initial tweet read:

"Rented a house with Bae for 4 years only to find out he owns it."

After getting numerous requests to elaborate on her story, she went on to add:

"‏Found a municipal letter and when I looked it had his name and surname... All these years he's been hiding these letters."

She went on to say that when she confronted him, all he said was:

"Surprise!"

"He added that he wanted to surprise her and would now be sending uncles to her parents' house to begin lobola negotiations."

Mzansi social media users were brutal in their responses to the poor woman. PreciousPholo said:

"On the brighter side, you helped him with his bond which is not a bad thing babes."

petitendu said:

"Make sure you not registered in his insurance policies, nna I'd sleep with one eye open."

Dicey_Shizzle said:

"We need him as the main speaker at the next Men's Conference."

After hours of being slammed by social media users, the woman posted that the story was not true. Unfortunately, nobody believed her.
