Since setting a foot out of bed, Dani was having a really bad day - everything was just going wrong.
On top of insomnia and feeling bad for the dogs left outside in the cold, Dani had four kids at home during the school holidays and daddy was in serious need of some coffee.
"So I head to the shop for the kiddies' sugar and daddy's coffee and I happen onto this scene... At first I think the old man is in trouble, we see him often and always try to help him but it turns out someone took the old man's shoes and other belongings," the post read.
Dani then saw a metro police officer with the man, who a social media user identified as Abram, giving him various items.
"So Metro officer, Nkosi, had gone out of his way to assist the old man by going to the shop to buy him a pair of shoes, blankets and warm attire," Dani added.
Dani's mood immediately changed while witnessing the act of kindness.
"We need more humans to step up and do good. Thank you Officer Nkosi, you may have saved his life through the cold he is to face outside tonight and you lifted my bad mood with renewed inspiration to continue doing good wherever I can."
The story inspired social media users who applauded the metro cop for his kindness, Briefly.co.za gathered.
