Mali’s Les Aigles have become the latest side to send a squad member packing from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
According to Kick-off citing Ghanasoccernet, striker Adama Niane, was barred from Mali national team after he allegedly slapped teammate and captain Abdoulay Diaby.
Additional report from Footmali claim the altercation between the skipper and the 20-year-old Niane took place at Mali’s team hotel.
Team members reportedly were waiting for a barber, when Niane arrived, and Diaby was believed to be sitting on his chair which he did not find funny.
However, after he could not take it any longer, the Belgium-based forward ‘attacked’ his captain with a slap.

And with the latest development, Diaby is now expected to travel to Mali's base in Cairo, ahead of a flight back to Bamako. Interestingly, the incident comes after Pharaoh’s of Egypt axed Amr Warda for allegedly harassing a number of women online.
However, the North Africans have revised their earlier decision to bar Warda, who has since returned to Pharaoh’s camp.
