- Former Kaizer Chiefs player, Pule Ekstein, has got his big European move
- The attacker was deemed surplus to requirements at Amakhosi, but signed a 2-year deal with Sabah FC in the Azerbaijan Premier League
- Ekstein revealed that he’s delighted to achieve his dream of playing abroad
Former Kaizer Chiefs player, Pule Ekstein, was discarded by Amakhosi before the end of the season as he was deemed surplus to requirements.
The decision may turn out to be a blessing in disguise as this has freed him up for a big European move.
Sabah FC announced the signing of Ekstein as the attacker will feature in the Azerbaijan Premier League.
The 28-year old was unveiled on Friday following a medical on Thursday.
KickOFF reported on Ekstein’s delight as he has now fulfilled a life-long dream of playing abroad.
The fact that Ekstein was a free agent would have played into his hands at the contract negotiation stage.
Ekstein said, "I'm here to learn and know how things work on this side. It's a dream for each and every player to come to Europe, because as a young boy you dream of playing overseas.”
Briefly.co.za understands that Ekstein is determined to not follow the path of other players who ended their European contracts prematurely.
He revealed he would work harder than before to make a success of the move.
