Romantic gestures can be tricky - there's always the chance that it will go wrong and blow up in the face of a well-meaning person trying to show love.

But breakfast in bed shouldn't be a problem. Right?

Well, one man's idea of the perfect breakfast in bed had social media users flooding the Twitter streets with comments.

Apparently, his bread-heavy breakfast did not pass the test, according to tweeps. We hope his bae at least enjoyed his sincere effort.

Briefly.co.za noticed that most people were surprised by how many slices of bread the man had prepared. Even local celeb, Maps Maponyane, had something to say:
