It is not easy having parents who are celebrities when you yourself are trying to make a name for yourself. Redi Tlhabi recently stepped forward in defence of her stepdaughter, Lesego Tlhabi, more widely known by her online alter ego, Coconut Kelz.

Coconut Kelz is absolutely hilarious. Lesego’s alter ego plays the role of a young white woman trapped in a black woman's body, its pure genius.

Briefly.co.za learnt that many have been attributing the insane success of Coconut Kelz to the fact that she is related to the incredible broadcasting veteran, Redi.

The accusations started after SABC made the big announced that Lesego would be joining well-known presenter Bongani Bingwa on his new show, Democracy Gauge.

Redi was not having it. She took to social media with a series of posts where she made it clear that Lesego made a success of herself and that Redi’s name had nothing to do with it.
