Mzansi reacts to Bafana's Afcon 'resurrection': "Prayer works"

Miracles do happen - Bafana Bafana sneaked into the Afcon knockout rounds as Mzansi anxiously awaited their fate.

Bafana Bafana secured one of the final two spots in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) last-16 draw on Tuesday, Sport24 reported.

Briefly.co.za previously reported the team's hopes of continuing to the next round could have been extinguished because of a weak start in the tournament.

However, they have been given a second chance and Mzansi could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Taking to social media, South Africans explained how they felt about Bafana scraping through to the next round.

Themba Nobunga, who goes by the Twitter handle @NcekuThemba, commented: "Bafana Bafana is like that learner who failed Grade 11 twice and had to be progressed to the next grade #BafanaBafana."
Another tweep, @iamDonicap, added: "This is worse than the 33% pass mark."
Twitter user @ba_fa_na wrote: "So if we lose against Egypt, will we still qualify for last eight? #mabena #BafanaCanOnlyWinIf."

Meanwhile, South Africans also shared how they think Bafana could beat Egypt in the next round under #BafanaCanOnlyWinIf.

Twitter user @verna_bugana commented: "Can we take a sundowns team to play Egypt... They've been beating the likes of zamelek&AL ahly #BafanaCanOnlyWinIf."
