Woman loses job for being too young after falsifying her age

- A Nigerian man recently shared a friend’s job seeking experience with members of the internet community

- According to him, the lady falsified her age to gain favours from employers

- The lie, however, ultimately worked against her

There is no doubt that stringent demands from some Nigerian employers have accounted for the much of the increased unemployment in the country.

Perhaps this was what a young lady was trying to manoeuvrer her way through when she falsified her age on her CV in other to get a better chance at securing a job.

According to a social media user named Christian Ozor, who shared the story of his female friend on Twitter, the lady reduced her age from 27 to 23.

However, fate was not on her side as her potential employers, to her dismay, refused to give her a job because they believed she was too young for the role, even though she met all other criteria required for the position.

Ozor disclosed that she was crying in regret when she narrated her painful ordeal to him.

"A friend just called me now crying in regret. She reduced her age on her CV and went for a job interview. She was told by the panel that she met all criteria but was too young for the job. She's 27 but reduced her age to 23. Age was the only thing that disqualified her," he said.
